A gin distillery in the cellars of a 17th Century castle?! Now that’s something that every gin lover needs to experience! Join us for a gintastic tour of our distillery which lasts about an hour and a half. During your visit you’ll be treated to a story-filled guided journey of the distillery learning all about the history of Hensol Castle, the origins of gin, the wonders of botanicals and our distilling process, but always making sure there’s still plenty of time left for the all important gin tasting!

It was really interesting. I had visited there when I worked for the old health authority. My grandmother and Auntie worked there when a hospital too. The tour guide, Andrew was absolutely charming and very knowledgeable. It was well worth it as such a beautiful place and the gin not bad either. I loved it and so did my partner. Guided Tour of the history of Hensol Castle and Gin

After checking in at our reception, you will be taken by one of our passionate distillery tour guides on a unique walkthrough of the gin distillery, where you will learn about the history of the Hensol Castle Distillery and more about the historical figures that once lived in Hensol Castle and how they inspired the names of some of our gins. You will also learn about the history of gin and why it’s fast becoming the nation’s favourite tipple.

Look around our Sensory Botanical Room

Next, is a visit to our special botanicals room which includes over 100 different botanicals from all over the world and in this room is where you can touch, smell and understand where they all come from and how they enhance this wonderful spirit. You will then be introduced to our 500 litre copper still “Big Ben” where the entire distillation process is expertly explained.

Tutored Gin Tasting

Next, is the bit you’ve all been waiting for, tasters of our delicious gins. Our distiller will guide you through a tutored tasting of Hensol Castle Gin and Benjamin Hall Gin.

Once you've chosen your favourite flavour of our tasty spirit, it's time to head to our Gin Bar and enjoy a full size G&T of your choice .
